I have pink curtain’s. My end table is very boring and just wood. I want to make it VERY unique with different types of objects ( glass pieces..ect)

I am thinking of painting the pine bookcase white. I put a first thin coat of primer and it looks nicely white already. Do I need to paint a second coat of primer? Or should I paint a proper coat of white wood paint on top of it now?
Can I just put on a few coats of primer? It looks nicely white already. I am not sure if primer can protect the wood from normal use (books/writing, paper/printer). Or do I need another coat of interior paint?

I have been looking for a not too expensive plain white chair or love seat for my bedroom. I have a black, white, and silver ottoman/seat thing and i need a plain colored chair so it’s not too busy. btw, i’m 14.. i am redoing my room and i want it to be black and white with either purple, green, or hotpink walls. i havent decided yet, what do u think? green reminds me of summer 
but i like the other colors too! haha so give me ur opinions, and if u know where i can get a white chair! thanks
